My mother has complained about Obamacare from day 1. Mainly due to what I believe is disinformation. My Grandma broke her hip recently. She is going through therapy and rehab in an assisted living home. I think temporarily for 3 months. It is about $200/day and Medicare does not cover it. So, it is out of pocket. My mother told me (to begin another screed against Obama and Obamacare) that the doctor told her that Medicare couldn't pay for my Grandma's treatment because Obamacare is taking money from it. I had been told by others that, in fact, it would never have been covered under medicare.
I would like some enlightenment on this. What is the truth of my Grandma's situation? This goes back to the problem you said. We do not know enough about what goes on in medicine to know the truth about what gets covered, either through Medicare or private insurance.
To say a little more, I do feel that Obamacare is overall, a step in the right direction, though is flawed. I am aware that many people, both employers and people have been blaming Obamacare for everything, but I'm wondering how much it affected Medicare and if it is at all related to why my Grandma can't get the coverage she needs for her rehabilitation.
